Mass demonstration opposes Christian worship activities

March 24, 2019

On the 19th of March, the Ja-Ela Police informed the pastor that a complaint had been lodged against him by a group of townspeople against his church and told him to be present for an inquiry on the 25th. The following day, at around 3:00 p.m., while the Sunday worship service was ongoing, a mass protest was held outside the church premises, comprising around 2000 townspeople and led by a traders’ association. They distributed leaflets and shared a petition, calling for the removal of the church.
